Month Before Moving Day |

Make arrangements with a Moving Company
or to reserve your Rental Truck. |

Itemize all Moving Costs; Packing, Loading, Special Handling, Insurance, etc. | ||

Make any travel arrangements required; Airlines, Automobile Rental; Hotel | ||

Get important documents; i.e.; Medical, School, Dental, Veterinarian, Legal, etc. | ||

Transfer Memberships; i.e., Civic Organizations, Churches, Clubs, etc. | ||

Transfer or obtain Licenses; i.e., Professional, Academic, Sporting | ||

Decide what you will keep, sell, destroy, donate, replace and give away. | ||

Inventory all your important possessions now in the event you need to file a claim. | ||

Make arrangements for all School Transfers, both to and from; Immunizations. | ||

Fill out a Change of Address Form with Post Office and the IRS. | ||

Make arrangements for transporting your pets if necessary. | ||

Begin using up food items so there will less to pack and possibly spoil. | ||

Reserve an elevator if necessary. Confirm all travel arrangements. | ||

Have appliances cleaned and serviced for moving. | ||

Switch utility services to new address or arrange first-time service. | ||

Arrange for any long or short term storage service if needed. | ||

If a professional mover is packing for you, schedule packing 1 - 2 days prior to Moving Day. | ||

If you are packing yourself, assemble sufficient packing materials and supplies. | ||

Arrange for help on Moving Day. | ||

Terminate subscriptions to Newspapers and other delivery services. | ||

Prepare automobiles for the trip to your new home. | ||
